OUTREACH
In September 2011, Dr. Steve Cook and JEM Ukrainian Missionary, Eugene Kozachenko,
teamed together to conduct an "End-Time Outreach" in Ukraine. Over the years, the
former Soviet Union country of Ukraine has been a great harvest field of thousands of
precious souls for the ministry of JEM Missions. Brother Eugene is a Ukrainian national, and
he continues to labor in the vineyard of his home country... "to the Jew first, and also to
the Greek" (Romans 1:16).
Bro. Steve and Eugene held an Israel & Prophecy Conference in the city of Dnepropetrovsk,
Ukraine. Dnepropetrovsk is a "steel-making town" similar to that of Pittsburgh, PA, in the
USA. The city has a large population, includiing thousands of Jewish people. It is home to
one of most beautiful Jewish synagogues in the world.
Working with Eastern Gate Baptist Church (planted by Bro. Eugene Kozachenko), over
15,000 fliers/invitations were distributed throughout the city of Dnepropetrovsk by
church members, Bro. Eugene, and Dr. Cook. Demitry Pichenestsky serves as pastor of
Eastern Gate Baptist Church. A meeting hall was rented by Bro. Eugene, and services were
held for three (3) days in the city.
Bro. Steve preached on "The Wrath of the Lamb," "The Wrath of Satan," and "The
Wrath of God." Each message focused extensively at various judgments that will befall the
"inhabiters of the earth" during the Tribulation Period. Bro. Eugene Kozachenko translated
each sermon in Russian. PowerPoint slides were used to amplify the teaching and preaching
nightly. Special singing was provided by various Ukrainian singers. More than 300 people
attended the prophecy conference with a mixture of believers and lost in attendance. As a
result of the outreach, 33 precious souls were SAVED! We praise the Lord for a
bountiful harvest of souls in Ukraine.
Dr. Cook and Bro. Eugene also preached in five (5) local church services in the cities of
Dnepropetrovsk and Novamoskovk. The main messages dealt with "Living in Latter
Times", that included the need of reaching out to the Jewish population in Ukraine and
around the world. It was the prayers of Bro. Steve and Bro. Eugene, that God would use the
messages to burden the local churches for the Jewish population of Ukraine, as well as
express the "urgency of reaching the lost."
