Provoking to Jealousy
by Rev. Eugene Kozachenko
JEM Russian-Speaking Coordinator
Serving in a ministry to the Jewish people I often times find it difficult and tend to complain
within myself, the main reason for it all is the hardness of the Jews and their non-
responsiveness to the Gospel given to them. It is such a ministry where you do not see many
saved and understand fully why angels in Heaven rejoice much over one saved – it must have
been said about salvation of one Jew...

The nation of Israel has been the most persectued people in history, but they have persevered.
On May 14, 1948, Israel was declared a "free and independent state" by the United Nations.  The
USA was the first nation to acknowledge Israel as a sovereign nation.  One reason I believe God
has so richly blessed America is because we have historically been an ally of Israel.  However,
under our current administration, I fear this is rapidly changing! As believers we are exhorted to
"pray for the peace of Jerusalem" and for the people of Israel, but I strongly suggest we pray for
America and our government too!...

These are the words of JEM Missionary Rolando Muniz after our group conducted our
evangelistic outreach into Cuba. Over 500 people filled out decision cards professing Christ as
their Savior!  The Lord mightily moved as we preached and witnessed on the streets.  In Havana,
we conducted a Prophecy and Israel Conference at the Calvary Baptist Church.  Although the
meeting was supposed to be for Christians, sixteen people trusted the Lord.  This church has
invited us to come back in October and hold a major outreach that could potentially result in
hundreds of people being saved...

Certain promises of God still stand for lost Jews and Gentiles, as well as for the born again
Christian. As I came out of church Sunday night after a rain, the rainbow stretched itself against
the skyline delivering the message of the Lord, this is My promise, (Genesis 9:13) “I do set my
bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.” What a
great promise the Lord has given to all mankind that shall never ever be broken, we have God’s
Word on it! (2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto
the glory of God by us.)

"More than 500 people will remember this forever!"
“There are stories we will never know”, said our JEM president while we were in the car, giving
thanks to God for His blessings, after sharing the experiences and testimonies celebrating one
of the greatest events in Cuba. What a tremendous week! No less than 500 souls won for Christ!
We just finished a blessed time in Cuba. Can you think of a Christian that does not love to
celebrate a good Passion Week? Normally we all are involved in Passion Week programs in our
local churches, to help remember the death and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Giving out gospel tracts to the Jewish people every week, month after month, year in and year
out, besides the new and interesting opinions of others about me that I often hear, I become
more and more certain of the Bible truth recorded by the Holy Spirit in the Scripture by the
words of Apostle Paul - I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but
rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. If
by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them
(Rom. 11:11, 14). I think a great principle in winning the Jews to Christ is hidden here, which is –
provoking them to jealousy!
